License Plate Recognition (LPR) now at UTMB

Your license plate now functions as your parking hangtag. (Limited lots and programs only at this point)

NOTE: You will be asked to provide your license plate information when purchasing parking at UTMB. It is important that your license plate information be entered in correctly or you may receive an unnecessary citation.

New, free parking options for Galveston Campus 

Employee and student now have three options for free, non-contract parking. Approximately 670 spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis:

  • Barracuda Street Lot between 4 th Street/Holiday Drive and 6th Street, behind the Primary Care Pavilion
  • FH Lot at Mechanic Street and Ferry Road
  • Seawall Lot on 706 Holiday Dr., Galveston, TX 77550

These options are available to faculty, staff and students, including those who occasionally travel to the Galveston Campus from other UTMB or remote work locations.

A shuttle service is now available for employees and students parking at the Seawall Lot.

Other commuting options include the Park & Ride shuttle between Galveston and League City/Webster, as well as van- and carpools. For more information, visit the Public Transit and Commuting web page.
