T32 Training Program
A two-year research training program for physician-scientists focused on emerging infectious diseases. Trainees receive mentorship, hands-on research experience, and career development support to become leaders in outbreak investigation, epidemiology, and clinical research.
Fogarty
Building research capacity in Colombia to tackle emerging zoonotic and vector-borne diseases. This program trains Colombian scientists in diagnostics, bioinformatics, and outbreak response to improve public health interventions and epidemic preparedness.
Affiliated Courses
Our affiliated courses provide opportunities for international research, clinical training, and outbreak response education. Opportunities include the Global Health Scholarly Concentration, Global Grand Rounds, and Biocontainment Training, covering tropical medicine, field epidemiology, and high-containment PPE skills.
Internships & Fellowships
Our internships and fellowships provide intensive training in infectious diseases, biodefense, and tropical medicine. Programs include the NIH-funded T32 Physician Scientist Training in Emerging Infectious Diseases, along with multiple training grants supported by UTMB’s renowned faculty. These opportunities offer mentorship, research experience, and pathways to NIH career development awards.
Infectious Diseases & Immunity Colloquium
The Infectious Diseases & Immunity Colloquium Series, sponsored by CBEID, CTD, and UTMB’s Microbiology & Immunology and Pathology departments, features global experts sharing research on infectious diseases and immunity.
Annual Tropical and Emerging Infectious Diseases Symposium
The Annual CTD-SPECTRE Tropical and Emerging Infectious Diseases Symposium features keynotes, expert talks, small group sessions, and networking opportunities. Highlights include topics on bacterial and viral infections, diagnostics, vaccines, and tours of UTMB's BSL-4 lab.
ASTMH Student Membership
