  • Team Science Pilot Program Winners Announced

    The inaugural Office of Team Science Pilot Program launched in November as a bold step toward fostering interdisciplinary collaboration at UTMB. Focused on addressing global health challenges, the program unites expertise across schools and institutes, empowering researchers to tackle complex health issues through innovative, team-driven approaches. Congratulations to the six teams selected to receive funding.

  • Congratulations, IDEA Grant Recipients

    The IDEA Program has awarded more than $1 million to 18 innovative research projects at UTMB. The Innovation, Discovery & Technology Commercialization (IDEA) grants program is a new collaboration of the Sealy Institute for Drug Discovery, UTMB’s Office of Innovation, the Office of Development, the Moody Brain Health Institute, the Galveston National Laboratory, and the Department of Internal Medicine.

    The Greater Texas Gulf Coast Engage Me Series brings together leaders from government, healthcare, education, industry, advocacy, and the community to address key health issues through an interprofessional approach and using open dialogue, policy advocacy, research, and public health initiatives.

    AMT Education Week is in the works! CME and CNE will be available for each of the 12 to 1 p.m. virtual presentations on April 7, 9, 10, and 11. Presenters and titles for the “Innovation” theme coming soon.

    Teaching Excellence And Mentorship (TEAM) Fellows are getting ready for the in-person Teaching Basics Bootcamp Feb. 24 to 26! Sessions on active learning methods, curriculum development, learner assessment, and professional identity formation are scheduled.

    The Office of Faculty Affairs and the Advancing Research through Mentorship Program have teamed up with Karl Keller, principal at Communication Partners, to provide a five-session technical and scientific writing workshop designed to equip you with the tools, strategies, and confidence to craft compelling grant proposals that stand out.

    The Office of Faculty Affairs is excited to announce the call for mentees and mentors to join the Advancing Research through Mentorship (ARM) Program. This initiative supports early-career researchers in securing independent funding and establishing a sustainable research program through personalized mentorship, training, and resources.
