About OFA

Welcome to the Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) at UTMB! The mission of the Office is to cultivate a supportive, nurturing, and inspiring academic environment where faculty members across all schools and disciplines are positioned to thrive. The office creates multiple career development programs and is a hub for faculty-centered processes: Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure; post-tenure review; academic department reviews; and awards and recognitions.

As Senior Vice President and Provost (interim), I am excited to lead programs that encompass mentorship, career guidance, and personal, professional, and leadership development. Additionally, I provide oversight and strategic direction to the Health Education Center (HEC); the Office of Interprofessional Continuing Education, including CME/CNE (IPCE); the Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation Office; the Community Engagement and Education program; and most recently, the Wellness Office.

Most importantly, the staff of OFA is committed to growing faculty engagement and satisfaction through our work securing additional resources, refining policies, developing programs, and organizing celebrations and social networking events. Our institution’s strength lies in the tremendous talents and expertise of its faculty. As we actively embark on new endeavors to elevate and support UTMB faculty, we hope to magnify the reputation of UTMB faculty and impact on our students, patients, and communities.
