A PERSONAL NOTE FROM DR. WANG
I am a first generation Chinese-American who was born in New Orleans, but moved to Dallas when I was 3 years old, so I claim Texas as my home state and have been here ever since! I went to undergraduate school at UT Austin, medical school at UT Health Science Center San Antonio and I am now completing residency at UT Medical Branch Galveston!
I have always been passionate about research and volunteering. I graduated UT San Antonio as an MD with a distinction in research that was primarily focused on liver disease and presented at national conferences. In most of my medical school career I was involved in some fashion with volunteering. I was on the Texas Medical Association board at our local chapter as the Community Service chair and planned events such as helmet giveaways to kids and vaccination drives. I also started and assisted with many different volunteer projects. During my time here at UTMB, I want to continue pursuing my academic interests as well as expanding my clinical knowledge and helping under-served populations through the resident run clinics
I strive to become a physician that is well versed in challenging situations, that is capable of being adaptable to ever evolving patient experiences, and well equipped to deal with disease complexity. I believe that my time here at UTMB will prove to be fruitful and I look forward to the clinician I will become afterwards. I hope to remain in Texas and start my own clinic to give back to my community.
In my free time I love cooking, playing video games, and playing ping pong.
