A PERSONAL NOTE FROM DR. RUSTOM
Hi, I’m Grace! Thanks for stopping by. I was born and raised in the suburbs of North Houston by immigrant parents from Lebanon and Thailand. Growing up in a culturally diverse home gave me a deep appreciation for resilience and the unique challenges different communities face in accessing healthcare. This background shaped my commitment to providing compassionate, accessible care to people from all walks of life and inspired my journey to become a Family Medicine physician.
I was drawn to Family Medicine because of its broad scope and the opportunity to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients across all stages of life. One of my favorite moments during training was when a preceptor shared that he had cared for a young adult since the patient was just two days old. That kind of continuity is exactly what I hope to build in my own career.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy trying new workout classes like Pilates and barre, running, and exploring new restaurants. I also love spending time with my husband, who I couples matched with here, along with our family and friends. We were incredibly grateful to match in Galveston, as we wanted to stay close to home and family. We feel fortunate to be part of programs that align with our values and allow us to support each other through this next chapter of training.
