Pharmacology and Toxicology Graduate Program

Laezza, Fernanda

Welcome to the Pharmacology & Toxicology Graduate Program!

With the growing need for new therapeutics against human diseases, the discipline of Pharmacology & Toxicology is taking center stage among biomedical sciences. The Pharmacology & Toxicology Graduate Program at the University of Texas Medical Branch offers unprecedented opportunities for training and career development in the area of drug discovery and drug development across all therapeutic disciplines. The program's interdepartmental nature and strong ties to the industry allow students to receive training in any eligible campus laboratory. Areas of strengths include:

  • Neuropharmacology of Neuropsychiatric, Neurological and Substance Use Disorders
  • Cancer Pharmacology
  • Environmental Toxicology
  • Vaccine development
  • Infectious disease pharmacology
  • Medicinal Chemistry

Faculty in the Pharmacology & Toxicology Graduate Program are members of the:

  1. the Center for Addiction Sciences and Therapeutics
  2. the Sealy Center for Molecular Medicine
  3. the Sealy Center for Environmental Health Sciences and Medicine
  4. the Mitchell Center of Neurodegenerative disorders
  5. the Sealy Center for Structural Biology
  6. the Sealy Center for Vaccine Development
