Dr. Yu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biostatistics & Data Science. She is a senior biostatistician with a background in clinical medicine. She has provided statistical support for projects assessing a broad range of medical conditions,
including cancer, HIV, digestive diseases, and others since 2003. Her expertise includes design and analysis for animal studies, clinical trials, and epidemiological studies; comparative effectiveness research, survey data analysis, longitudinal
data analysis; and HIV research. She works with basic scientists, epidemiologists, and clinical researchers, and provides consultation on study design and statistical analyses, and assists with grant applications and publications. She is interested
in applied statistics and resolving problems in real-life studies using novel statistical methods, with a primary focus on HIV research. She has a subcontract to provide statistical support for the HIV research programs in the southern Africa
region and uses large administrative data to conduct HIV epidemiologic and health services research.
