Dr. Szauter received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed residency training in internal medicine at Baltimore City Hospital. After completing fellowship training in gastroenterology (MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland Ohio) and nutrition (St. Vincent Charity Hospital, Cleveland Ohio) she joined the UTMB faculty in 1990. She serves as the Co-Director for the Internal Medicine Year-3 clerkship.
