Faculty Profile

  • Dr. Hassan obtained his MBBS degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at the Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center/RWJ Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ. He then continued his medical training with a Fellowship in Nephrology at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA.

    Prior to joining UTMB Health, Dr. Hassan served as an Attending Nephrologist at Methodist Hospital in Baytown, TX as well as a Transplant Nephrologist at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND. Joining UTMB Health is a return to academia for Dr. Hassan as he was once a faculty member at the Baylor College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Medicine.

    Dr. Hassan’s medical training as been put to use across the globe as he has served in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, in addition to multiple locations throughout the United States such as Florida and North Dakota. Clinical Interests: Transplant Nephrology
