Biography

Carol Carman, PhD is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences in the School of Health Professions (SHP) at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB).

Dr. Carman received her Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Psychology and Research - Emphasis in Statistics, Measurement, and Evaluation from the University of Kansas. She received her B.S. in Psychology and M. S. in Educational Psychology – Specialization in Giftedness from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Carman has acted as a consultant on gifted- and creativity-related issues to multiple school districts and children’s museums. In addition to serving as a reviewer for the American Educational Research Association (AERA) annual conference since 2005, she has served in officer-level positions for AERA and NAGC and serves on the Editorial Boards of three Gifted Journals (GCQ, JEG, GEI). She reviews for eight peer reviewed journals.
