Biography

Vicki Freeman, PhD, MASCP, MLS(ASCP)cm SCcm, FACB is a Professor Emeritus and former Chair (tenured) in the UTMB Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences. She is also the former Associate Dean for Faculty Development for the School of Health Professions.

Dr. Freeman received a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of Texas at Austin. She also received a Master of Arts in Adult and Continuing Education/Minor in Pathology and her Doctorate in Philosophy in Community and Human Resources from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

She was a UT Distinguished Professor and a former Minnie Stevens Piper Professor. She works on PEPFAR-funded initiatives in resource limited countries to train laboratory personnel and develop curriculum materials.
