You're In! What's Next?

Within three business days of the date of your acceptance letter, accept your offer in mySTAR, pay your deposit, and email your acceptance confirmation and signed Essential Functions and Technical Standards signature page to pasadmis@utmb.edu. Follow the instructions in your acceptance letter.

Follow the email from Enrollment Services to activate your new mySTAR login and UTMB email. Call the UTMB Service Desk at 409-772-5200 for password and Duo setup. Check your UTMB email regularly for official communications and access your accounts at least every 30 days to maintain access.

All final official transcripts must be sent electronically by your institution directly to Enrollment Services by June 1. Check your “To Do” list in mySTAR for outstanding document requirements. Questions about transcripts should be directed to enrollment.services@utmb.edu.

A CastleBranch invitation with instructions will be sent to your UTMB email in June. Both requirements must be completed by July 1. Questions should be directed to pasadmis@utmb.edu.

Email your BLS certification card to pasadmis@utmb.edu by June 15. Certification must be issued through an American Heart Association (AHA)-approved course, remain valid through the fall semester of your didactic year, and be maintained throughout enrollment.

Upload supporting documentation using the Immunization Information Tile in mySTAR by July 1. Review the UTMB Immunization Requirements. Please begin this process early to ensure you are in compliance in time for matriculation. Any questions related to immunizations requirements should be directed to the Student Health office, shcemail@utmb.edu.

All students must maintain health insurance throughout their enrollment. Review UTMB Health Insurance Information for coverage requirements, enrollment options, and instructions for submitting proof of existing coverage. Any questions related to health insurance should be directed to the Student Health office, shcemail@utmb.edu.

In iUTMB, select “Search all links and resources,” then “Annual Online Training” in the left navigation panel. Complete your assigned UTMB Learn training by the deadline provided by Enrollment Services to avoid an account hold.

Review the current textbook list through the UTMB Campus Store before purchasing. See the Required Medical Equipment List (PDF coming soon) and Equipment Ordering Instructions (PDF coming soon) for approved equipment and ordering deadlines.

Purchase an approved short white coat (Men’s 2040S or Women’s 2020S) and PAS-designated gray scrubs through the UTMB Campus Store. Regular or jogger scrubs are acceptable. Your white coat is required for orientation photographs. The website may not show all available styles or sizes. Contact the UTMB Campus Store for availability or help ordering.

Any questions related to the JSSOM Student Computer Requirements should be directed to the Instruction Management Office, som.imo@utmb.edu.

You will be tested on medical terminology during the first week of classes. A minimum score of 80 is required; lower scores may result in disciplinary action under program policy. An optional refresher is Medical Terminology Simplified: A Programmed Learning Approach by Body System by Barbara A. Gylys (ISBN-13: 978-1719646161).

Visit UTMB Student Parking for options and purchasing instructions before arriving on campus. Questions should be directed to parking@utmb.edu or 409-266-PARK.

UTMB does not offer student housing; however, the Office of Student Life created an online forum where UTMB students can connect with one another to seek roommates and share housing opportunities.

The PA Studies program coordinates course registration throughout your enrollment. Check mySTAR to confirm your courses and resolve any account holds.

Any questions regarding Tuition and Fee Payment Information should be directed to the Enrollment Services office, enrollment.services@utmb.edu. Any questions regarding financial aid should be directed to the Financial Aid department, sfinaid@utmb.edu.

All entering students must complete an online orientation in addition to the in-person orientation. You will receive an email from the Office of Student Life with additional information. This step must be completed before in-person orientation. Any questions related to the required online orientation should be directed to the Student Life office, studentlife@utmb.edu.
