Biography

Regan L. Blankenship, DHSc, MS, OTR, is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the UTMB School of Health Professions. She received her Bachelor of Health Science and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Spalding University in Louisville, KY, and her Doctorate of Health Science from the University of Indianapolis in Indianapolis, IN.

Her clinical experience includes pediatric clinics in both Kentucky and Indiana and, most recently, over 5 years of experience in one of the largest children’s hospitals in the country, where she worked towards creating a constraint-induced movement therapy program for children and infants with unilateral cerebral palsy. Her work relates to children with neurological and genetic conditions to increase upper extremity hand function with rehabilitative and adaptive technologies.
