Entry-Level Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD)

Hybrid Program at Laredo, TX

The entry-Level Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD) is designed for students with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree who want to become licensed occupational therapists.

This entry-level Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD) program is a hybrid program that includes online didactic courses, in-person skills labs (on-site in Laredo), and clinical courses totaling 113 credit hours of coursework over 3 years. Level I Fieldwork is embedded in the first 2 years with Fieldwork Practicums. Level II Fieldwork follows the successful completion of all didactic courses with the capstone experience at the end of the 3rd year. All fieldwork education and doctoral capstone must be completed within 24 months of completion of academic coursework.

You will have the option to select if you want to apply for the Galveston track, the Laredo track, or be considered for both programs. Our program has a rolling admissions process; applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis until the class of 15-20 is filled and the alternate waitlist is complete. The Laredo hybrid program will be capped at 20 students.

Applicants are encouraged to apply early for the first round of selection. Interviews will be held September 2025 through February 2026. Under the Application Process section, read bullet #7 for our rolling admissions policy.
